PPP Leaders Address Press Conference Amidst Tensions with India

Islamabad: In a joint press conference held at the Central Secretariat, key figures from the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) addressed national security issues and recent tensions with India. Secretary General Syed Nayyar Hussain Bukhari, Senator Sherry Rehman, and Nadeem Afzal Chan shared the party’s stance on the country’s defense capabilities and ongoing geopolitical challenges.

Bukhari emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to peace, while affirming the nation’s right to self-defense. He highlighted the PPP’s role in bolstering the country’s defense, citing the development of nuclear and missile technology as significant achievements. Bukhari praised the armed forces for their readiness and urged for dialogue following the ceasefire.

Bukhari also criticized Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accusing him of masking his shortcomings with aggressive rhetoric. He condemned India’s actions as violations of international law and called for international pressure on India to resolve the Kashmir dispute in line with United Nations resolutions.

Senator Sherry Rehman contrasted the media narratives in both countries, commending Pakistani media for its responsible reporting. She reiterated that Pakistan’s response to India’s aggression was robust and underscored the importance of dialogue, particularly concerning Kashmir.

Nadeem Afzal Chan echoed the need for national unity, applauding Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari for his diplomatic efforts on the global stage. Chan called for continued solidarity among political parties to address terrorism and counter India’s hostile actions.
