Karachi, In a significant political shift, Senior Vice President of the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) Lawyers Forum Sindh, Advocate Syed Nadeem Shahzad Hashmi, announced his departure from PML-N to join Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) along with several colleagues. Hashmi, a long-standing member of PML-N with a thirty-year association, voiced his disillusionment with the current state of politics and governance, highlighting a desire for justice and change as key reasons for the switch.
According to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Hashmi criticized the prevailing political dynamics, pointing out the consolidation of forces against PTI’s Imran Khan and warning of a potential “bloody revolution” if the political course remains unchanged. He lamented the lack of justice in society, comparing it unfavorably to “the law of the jungle,” where he sees more fairness.
Hashmi’s decision to leave PML-N was fueled by frustrations over the party’s culture of “spoon-feeding and recommendation,” which he believes sidelines true ideological workers. He praised PTI for its commitment to change through democratic means and criticized what he perceives as a collective effort to undermine Khan’s mandate.
Joining Hashmi in the move to PTI are fellow advocates Riyaz Effendi, Manzoor Bhatta, Rauf Afridi, and Hamdani, among others. Together, they aim to support PTI’s agenda against oppression and fight for justice within the political landscape of Pakistan.
This move signifies a notable shift in the political affiliations of prominent legal figures in Sindh and underscores the fluid dynamics of Pakistan’s political landscape, where allegiances and motivations are frequently reassessed in response to the evolving socio-political environment.
