Lahore: Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, Secretary General of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, asserted that Pakistan’s nuclear program is the result of collective national effort rather than the achievement of any single political party or government. Speaking at a ceremony hosted by the Lahore Chamber of Commerce, Gandapur emphasized the crucial role of the Pakistani people in providing resources and making sacrifices to ensure the program’s success.
Gandapur highlighted the significant contributions of minorities in Pakistan’s development, education, and defense sectors. He traced the origins of the nuclear program back to the 1950s under Prime Minister Muhammad Ali Bogra, attributing the program’s foundation to a broad national effort deserving of recognition.
He also stressed the importance of modern education and technology for Pakistan’s future, arguing that national respect is earned through knowledge rather than infrastructure. Gandapur advocated for the promotion of online education to achieve educational equality across the country.
Emphasizing the strength of unity and solidarity, Gandapur called for the rejection of ideologies that incite hatred and division. He praised educational institutions founded by Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri for fostering an inclusive environment for students from diverse backgrounds.
Gandapur extended congratulations to the Pakistan Armed Forces for their role in national defense, stating that a united nation provides an invincible support for its military. He also expressed gratitude to the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and its president, Abu Zar Shad, for organizing the event, and urged collaboration among national institutions, social organizations, and the business community to address the country’s challenges.
The event saw participation from notable figures including Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora, Sardar Bishan Singh, Sohail Ahmad Raza, Shehzad Ahmad Khan, and Aurangzeb Raza, reflecting a shared commitment to national progress.
