Compared to a similar survey conducted in 2016, there has been a notable increase in the number of Pakistanis who believe that Afghans should be allowed to stay in the country upon request.

According to GALLUP PAKISTAN, the 2016 survey showed that 32% of respondents supported the idea of allowing Afghan refugees to stay in Pakistan, while 50% were against it. However, in the 2023 survey, the proportion of respondents in favor increased to 42%, and those against decreased to 46%.
