Pakistan Women Flex Batting Muscles Ahead of T20 World Cup with Multan Win

Multan: Pakistan’s women’s cricket team issued a formidable pre-T20 World Cup statement with a powerful batting display against South Africa, leveling their three-match T20I series with a game to spare. This performance, showcasing their highest-ever total in Women’s T20Is, sets the stage for a potential series victory on home soil this Friday.

According to International Cricket Council, after an early loss, Muneeba Ali propelled the hosts to a promising start, scoring 45 off 34 balls during the Powerplay. Her efforts, combined with Sidra Amin’s contribution of 28, laid a solid foundation for the innings. The highlight was a swift 60-run partnership between Nida Dar and Captain Fatima Sana, accelerating the scoring rate with their aggressive batting, contributing to a challenging total of 182 for South Africa.

Pakistan’s prowess wasn’t limited to their batting; their bowlers also tightened the screws. Spinners Nashra Sundhu and Sadia Iqbal were particularly effective, sharing four wickets and bowling 24 dot balls to stymie the Proteas’ response. Despite a spirited attempt by Sune Luus and Chloe Tryon, who put up 80 runs in the final seven overs, the target proved insurmountable, cementing Pakistan’s dominant performance as they look ahead to the T20 World Cup.
