Karachi, 17 Oct 2023:The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has announced plans to host condolence gatherings nationwide in memory of the Karsaz tragedy’s 16th anniversary. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the party chairman, will address the primary gathering in Karachi, with his speech being broadcasted live across other gatherings via video link.

In a press release from Media Cell Bilawal House, the party’s leaders, including Senator Waqar Mehdi and Saeed Ghani, reiterated the tragedy’s significance as a devastating terrorist act against peaceful political workers. Plans for the anniversary include candle lighting and flower placements at the Karsaz Memorial, and a primary gathering near Bilawal House on October 18.

Saeed Ghani criticized the previous government’s handling of the Karsaz and December 27 tragedies. He further stressed the importance of holding general elections and mentioned the unequal treatment of parties in the electoral process, particularly in Sindh.
