Karachi, A momentous occasion was marked as the Canadian Higher Commissioner Ms. Leslie Scanlon, First Secretary Ms. Amanda DeSadeleer, and NUST Pro-Rector Dr. Osman Hassan visited PODA’s facility in Chakwal. The visit was to observe the working prototype of a Solar-Powered Cold Storage unit, a project that holds significant promise for farmers and agricultural activities.
According to National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), the collaboration between NUST, PODA, and CFLI has resulted in a groundbreaking Solar Powered Cold Storage prototype, which is expected to have a wide-ranging impact not only in agriculture but also in pharmaceutical and dairy industries. The delegation was warmly received by PODA President Ms. Samina Nazir and her professional team in Nara Mughlan, Chakwal.
The cold storage unit was developed under the supervision of principal investigator Dr. Syed Hussain Imran Jaffery, with co-principal investigators Dr. Sara and Dr. Rafia Mumtaz overseeing the technical aspects. MBA students from NBS, guided by Dr. Kamran Khalid, are managing supply chain, marketing, and financial aspects, showcasing an interdisciplinary effort involving various schools of NUST including SMME, NBS, and SEECS.
