NED University Announces Re-Admission Opportunity for Lapsed Degree Students

Karachi, 16 Oct 2023: NED University of Engineering and Technology has informed students who have not yet fulfilled their degree requirements within the span of seven academic years that they now have an opportunity to complete their degrees, based on a decision made during the 40th meeting of the Governing Body of Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) earlier this year. This move grants a provisional re-admission pathway, giving such students a final chance to finalize their academic pursuits as outlined by PEC.

Students seeking re-admission in their respective engineering programs will be subjected to a one-time re-admission fee of Rs. 23,000, in addition to a charge of Rs. 7,800 per course. The university clarified that in any given semester, re-admitting students will only be provided courses, or their equivalents, that are currently being conducted in that particular term.

For registration purposes, affected students should report to the Academic Section at the Registrar’s Office between 16th and 20th October 2023. Online registration will simultaneously be available, aligning with the backlog/Phase-II registration timeline.

To maintain their re-admission status, students are mandated to attend all classes, uphold a minimum attendance rate of 75%, complete all sessional work, and take part in both mid-term and final examinations. Failing to abide by these regulations will render students ineligible to sit for the semester exams.

It’s essential for students to understand that the Fall Semester of 2023 is their final opportunity to utilize the relaxation provided by the Pakistan Engineering Council for completing degree requirements.
