Islamabad, 13 Oct 2023: In an initiative that mirrors the spirit of international cooperation and shared knowledge, a delegation from the National Defence University (NDU) Islamabad, led by Brigadier Muhammad Khurram Shahzad, Directing Staff Coordination of National Defence University, recently visited the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) and the renowned Faisal Mosque, as per a press release from IIUI. The delegation, which included faculty members and 46 high-ranking officers from 22 friendly countries, engaged in a detailed inland study tour, a component of the National Security and War Course (NSWC). The exercise aimed to immerse the participating officers in Pakistan’s robust cultural, historical, and religious contexts, contributing to a multifaceted understanding of the nation.
Upon arrival, representatives from IIUI’s Public Relations extended a warm reception to the delegation. A comprehensive briefing on the historical background and architectural intricacies of the Faisal Mosque was presented by Dawah Academy’s Faisal Masjid Islamic Centre (FMIC). The delegates expressed their admiration for the monumental structure, recognizing it as a symbol of Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage.
The exploration proceeded with a visit to the Dr. Hamidullah Library and Seerah Centre, offering the delegation insights into IIUI’s academic and research endeavors. In a presentation at the Allama Iqbal Auditorium, Brigadier Rtd. Dr. Muhammad Khan, Director (Academics and Examinations), meticulously introduced the faculties of the university. Dr. Khan elaborated on the forward-looking aspirations of IIUI under the stewardship of Dr. Hathal Hamoud Alotaibi, underscoring a steadfast commitment to maintaining and elevating academic excellence.
In his address, Dr. Khan conveyed that the International Islamic University Islamabad is poised to navigate its journey toward becoming a luminary of knowledge and a nexus for intellectual evolution.
