Lahore, December 18, 2022 (PPI-OT):Minister for Livestock and Dairy Development Department Punjab Sardar Shahabuddin Khan Seehar along with many Livestock Department officials paid visit to the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore`s Ravi Campus Pattoki called on UVAS Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad.
Sardar Shahabuddin Khan laid foundation of girls hostel for 100 students named ‘Rabia Basri Hall’. UVAS Project Director Mr Shahnawaz Bukhari briefed the participants regarding the hostel facilities and capacity while Principal Officer Ravi Campus Dr Arshad Javid, Dr Hafeez-ur-Rehman and number of senior faculty members of Ravi Campus were present.
The Rabia Basri hostel is a part of the project named ‘Provision of Urgently Needed Male and Female Hostel Facilities at UVAS Ravi Campus Pattoki funded by the Livestock and Dairy Development Department Government Punjab. During visit Minister Livestock planted a sapling at A block in front of Akram Complex.
Later Minister Livestock visited various department of Ravi Campus including Dairy Milk Processing Plant, different section of Prof Dr Akram Complex (Library, Auditorium). Meanwhile a detailed meeting with faculty members and staff held at Akram Complex.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad briefed the delegation on UVAS flood relief activities, research projects and clinical and extension services for livestock farming community to solve their issues. He also mentioned UVAS is working closely with poultry, dairy, food and meat industries. Minister appreciated the effort of UVAS leadership, its quality of education and state of the art research facilities for imparting practical knowledge to students at Ravi Campus.
