Chitral, July 18, 2023 (PPI-OT): A momentous step towards promoting sports activities and empowering female students was taken today as the University of Chitral and the Karishma Ali Foundation signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at the University of Chitral. The signing ceremony took place in the office of the Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Zahir Shah.
The MOU, a testament to the commitment towards women’s empowerment and gender equality, marks the beginning of a collaborative effort between the University of Chitral and the Karishma Ali Foundation, aimed at fostering sports participation and providing opportunities for female students to excel in various athletic endeavours. Karishma Ali, the renowned Pakistani footballer and founder of the Karishma Ali Foundation, expressed her enthusiasm for this new partnership, stating, “Sports have the unique ability to transform lives and transcend societal barriers. Through this collaboration, we aspire to create a safe environment where female students can not only develop their athletic skills but also build confidence and leadership qualities.
The university’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Zahir Shah, expressed his unwavering support for this collaboration, stating, “We believe in the power of sports to foster discipline, teamwork, and leadership among our students. This MOU with the Karishma Ali Foundation is a significant stride towards creating an inclusive and progressive and safe environment, where our female students can excel and make a lasting impact.” The signing ceremony was attended by the Assistant Director of Sports, Mr. Muhammad Hassan, the Assistant Registrar of Establishment, Mr. Najiullah, and the Public Relations Officer Mr. Shakeel Hussain. Their presence at the event highlights the university’s commitment to promoting gender inclusivity in sports and education.
