Main Aik Kahani Secures Top Honors at Punjab Theater Festival

Rawalpindi, The Rawalpindi Division’s drama Mein Ek Kahani clinched the first position at the Provincial Theater Festival held in Lahore, an event orchestrated by the Punjab Council of the Arts. This accolade was awarded for the play’s impactful narrative on women’s rights and domestic violence, marking a significant achievement for its writer and director Waqar Azeem and lead actors Shazia Sheikh and Rani.

According to Punjab Arts Council, the victory was celebrated by the Deputy Director of the Arts Council, Muhammad Shakoor, who lauded Shazia Sheikh and the entire team for their provincial success. Shakoor emphasized the importance of reformative and realistic themes in theater, noting their potential for lasting impact on audiences. He expressed the Arts Council’s dedication to fostering family-oriented dramas, reflecting on a vision where such productions draw families back to theaters en masse.
