Kuwait Red Crescent Distributes Relief Items to flood victims in Juhi

Karachi, September 06, 2022 (PPI-OT):The Pakistan Red Crescent-Sindh, with the support of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society, distributed a package of relief items to 160 internally displaced flood-affected families of UC Kamal Khan, taluka Juhi, District Dadu, on September 5, 2022. The Standard Non-Food Item (NFI) Kit package for a single-family included a tent, hygiene kit, kitchen set, seven blankets, two tarpaulin sheets, four mosquito nets, and two jerry cans.

Due to the inundation of the Indus River, many parts of Dadu district were submerged, making Juhi one of the most flood-affected areas of Sindh province. Pakistan Red Crescent and Kuwait Red Crescent are the first humanitarian organizations to distribute relief items to flood-afflicted families in Juhi. The flood victims appreciated the efforts of the Red Crescent and expressed hope that this will continue in their area.

The Kuwait Red Crescent Society delegation also visited the water purification plant installed by Pakistan Red Crescent Society at Kamal Khan Bridge near Chhandan Canal in Juhi, where flood victims are getting clean drinking water. The five-member delegation of Kuwait Red Crescent was led by the Director of Disaster Management and Emergency Unit Yusuf Al-Meraj. The Pakistan Red Crescent team included Deputy Director Media and Communication Department Islamabad Sher Zaman, Manager-Operations Sindh Muhammad Sajjad and Coordinator Emergency Response Force Hassan Ali Zuberi.
