Karachi’s Infrastructure Woes Highlighted by Local Political Leader

Karachi: Chief Organizer of Pasban Democratic Party Karachi, Tariq Chandiwala, criticized the governance in Karachi, pointing to deteriorating infrastructure and persistent civic issues affecting the residents. He urged local authorities, including Chief Minister Nayel and Mayor Karachi, to witness firsthand the challenges faced by citizens due to neglected infrastructure projects.

According to Pasban Democratic Party, the condition of Karachi’s roads, already in disrepair, has worsened with ongoing projects like Sui gas lines and the Green Bus initiative, turning the city into what Chandiwala described as a “city of pits.” He noted that the resultant dust storms are exacerbating respiratory illnesses among the population, underscoring the adverse impact of political conflicts and inefficient local governance.

Chandiwala expressed concerns over the frequent accidents caused by potholes and unsafe roads, questioning the allocation and utilization of development funds. He emphasized the need for transparency regarding the billions of rupees reportedly allocated for Karachi’s development, which he claimed are being mismanaged. Open manholes and lack of street lighting further contribute to the city’s safety hazards, he noted, urging the People’s Party government to address these issues promptly. Chandiwala called for immediate action and strategic planning to mitigate the infrastructure problems plaguing Karachi.
