17th World Urdu Conference Commences in Karachi with a Celebration of Culture and Literature

Karachi: The Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi has launched the four-day “Seventeenth World Urdu Conference. Celebration Karachi 2024,” marking a significant cultural event in the city. The conference was inaugurated by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, highlighting the Arts Council’s role in promoting art and culture.

According to Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi, the event began with the national anthem and included a show reel showcasing the council’s achievements over its 70-year history. Notable figures such as President Arts Council Muhammad Ahmed Shah, Provincial Minister for Culture Sindh Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah, and Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab were present. The conference aims to connect artists, writers, and intellectuals from around the world, celebrating the cultural heritage of Pakistan. The occasion also marked the release of white doves and the cutting of a cake in honor of the Arts Council’s 70th anniversary. The conference emphasizes the importance of Urdu and other regional languages in fostering unity and cultural understanding.
