Karachi Vice Chairman Calls for an End to Bandit Rule in the City

Karachi, Abdul Hakim Quaid, Vice Chairman of the Pasban Democratic Party, has called for decisive action to combat the rampant crime in Karachi, criticizing the Sindh Police for its failure to address the growing number of street crimes effectively.

According to Pasban Democratic Party, during a demonstration organized by Pasban District Central against street crimes in North Karachi, Quaid expressed grave concerns over the daily reports of thefts, muggings, murders, and open robberies that plague the city. He condemned the local law enforcement’s ineffectiveness, highlighting that despite numerous CCTV footage of crimes, criminals remain at large, creating a pervasive sense of insecurity among the citizens.

Quaid stressed that the government’s primary responsibility is to protect the lives and properties of its citizens and to provide adequate employment opportunities that could potentially reduce crime rates. He pointed out that the police and traffic police seemingly control the highways, intersections, and streets, yet robbers operate unchecked, suggesting a failure of governance and law enforcement.

The Vice Chairman called on the Inspector General of Sindh to acknowledge his failure and urged law enforcement agencies to intensify their efforts to dismantle the criminal networks that have instilled fear across Karachi. He argued for a more robust response to incidents of theft, robbery, extortion, and murder, insisting on the arrest and prosecution of criminal elements to restore peace and order in the city.

The demonstration was attended by local leaders and citizens who share the concern over the deteriorating security situation in Karachi and the ineffective measures taken by the authorities to control it. Quaid’s remarks resonated with the attendees, who demand a more secure environment where economic and social activities can thrive without the constant threat of criminal violence.
