Karachi: Tariq Chandiwala, Chief Organizer of the Pasban Democratic Party in Karachi, has issued a statement accusing various political factions of inciting linguistic riots to distract from the city’s pressing issues. Chandiwala emphasized the need for unity among the city’s residents to address these challenges and called for accountability for those responsible for the city’s current state.
Chandiwala warned against external influences seeking to disturb the peace in Karachi, urging citizens to remain vigilant. He described Karachi as “mini-Pakistan,” highlighting its significance and the threats posed by internal and external forces aiming to fan the flames of division.
The statement criticized the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) for their roles in the city’s ongoing struggles. Chandiwala argued that these parties are attempting to revive their political fortunes at the expense of Karachi’s stability. He urged the people to reject opportunistic elements and focus on collaborative efforts to resolve the city’s problems.
Karachi, with its population exceeding that of many countries, faces infrastructural and governance challenges. Chandiwala pointed out the neglect by political leaders, noting that the city’s past glory has been overshadowed by its current issues. He criticized the PPP for prioritizing political control over genuine development, accusing them of ignoring Karachi’s needs while remaining loyal to their Larkana base.
The statement also highlighted the deterioration of Karachi’s education and transport systems, attributing these issues to the PPP’s governance. Chandiwala questioned the party’s ability to maintain peace and order, both in the city and the wider Sindh region.
The call to action was clear: Karachi’s residents should unite to address the city’s complex problems and demand accountability from the political parties vying for control without offering viable solutions.
