Karachi Colleges Shine in Inter-College Ramadan T-20 Cup Victories

Karachi, The Inter-College Ramadan T-20 Cup, sponsored by the Regional Cricket Association Karachi in conjunction with the Pakistan Cricket Board, witnessed two decisive matches yesterday, further heating up the competition. Abdul Rafi of Government National College and Rohail Nassar of Government College for Men Nazimabad were standout performers, earning Player of the Match honors for their respective games.

According to Regional Cricket Association Karachi, the day’s action began at the IBA Karachi University Ground, where Government National College faced off against Government Pak Ship Owners College. Government National College, batting first, posted a formidable total of 173 runs thanks to notable contributions from Mohammad Sufyan (38 runs) and Fahad Durrani (33 runs), with Abdul Rafi and Daniyal Junaid each adding 26 runs to the tally. The bowling attack, led by off-spinner Abdul Rafi with 4 wickets for 23 runs, restricted the opposition to 119 runs, securing a 54-run victory for Government National College. Former Test cricketer Taseef Ahmed presented Abdul Rafi with the Player of the Match award in a ceremony attended by key figures, including Coordinator Rahat Ali Shah and Azam Khan.

The second match of the day took place at Eid Gah Ground Nazimabad, where Government College for Men Nazimabad triumphed over Happy Palace College by 10 wickets. The Happy Palace College team was bowled out for 66 runs, with Arham Asif and Faraz Hussain Khan being the top scorers. Rohail Nassar’s efficient medium pace bowling, yielding 3 wickets for 8 runs, played a pivotal role in the victory. In response, Government College for Men Nazimabad’s openers chased down the target without losing a wicket, with Ghazi Ghori’s unbeaten 60 runs leading the charge. Nassar received the Player of the Match award, complemented by a cash prize, from former first-class cricketer Aghasabar.
