Karampur, Amidst mourning the death of a prominent party member, Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, Siraj-ul-Haq, voiced strong criticisms of the government, denouncing its reliance on the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and highlighting a dire security situation in Sindh. His statements were made during an address to media and attendees at a funeral near Karampur.
According to Jamaat-E-Islami Pakistan, Siraj-ul-Haq condemned the existing government as illegitimate, accusing it of coming to power through deceitful means. He outlined a scenario of lawlessness in Sindh, particularly after dusk, citing an absence of police and a surge in banditry, where people are reportedly kidnapped and held for ransom in regions like Kundhkot and Kashmore. The Jamaat-e-Islami leader implicated local feudal lords and political figures in these crimes, demanding immediate action from national leadership to restore order and security.
The context of these remarks was the funeral of Maulana Abdul Hafeez Bejarani, a senior Jamaat-e-Islami figure, which drew attendees from various provinces. Siraj-ul-Haq extended his narrative to broader national issues, criticizing the government’s economic strategies and asserting the impact of inflation and corruption on the populace. He highlighted the plight of the poor, forced into deprivation under current policies, and reiterated his party’s commitment to advocating for Islamic principles and public rights.
Furthermore, Siraj-ul-Haq emphasized international solidarity, calling on Muslim leaders globally to support Palestinians, reflecting on recent tragedies in Gaza and underscoring Pakistan’s role in offering aid.
