MANSURAH, Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Siraj-ul-Haq has announced the commencement of a 63-day nationwide campaign by JI Youth, starting from December 8 to February 8.
According to Jamaat-E-Islami Pakistan, the campaign aims to establish a foundation for a “real revolution” through voting and will initiate from district headquarters across the country. A key focus of the campaign is the formation of JI youth units at polling stations to ensure fair elections, emphasizing a struggle between the oppressed and the oppressor rather than traditional political rivalries.
During a press conference in Mansurah, Siraj-ul-Haq, alongside other Jamaat-e-Islami leaders, stated that 50% of the party’s tickets for national and provincial assemblies would be allotted to youth. He stressed the importance of unity among the people and the need for equal opportunities for all political parties in the elections, as mandated by the Election Commission. The press conference was attended by notable Jamaat-e-Islami figures, including Vice-Amir Liaquat Baloch, Information Secretary Qaiser Sharif, and various youth leaders.
Siraj-ul-Haq criticized the current political system, accusing it of failing to bring about meaningful change over the last decade. He highlighted the skyrocketing costs of utilities, medicines, and basic food items, along with the prevalence of out-of-school children due to poverty. He condemned the long-standing dominance of what he described as cruel landlords and corrupt capitalists, alleging their involvement in widespread corruption and institutional destruction.
The Jamaat-e-Islami leader announced that in the next 63 days, each party worker is expected to enroll 100 new voters, as part of a door-to-door campaign to spread their vision of a corruption-free Islamic and prosperous Pakistan. He expressed confidence in the youth’s belief that Jamaat-e-Islami is capable of bringing real change, contrasting this with the failures of past governments.
Russell Khan Babar, speaking at the event, highlighted the significant role of youth in the upcoming election. He pointed out that with 579 million young voters and a strong presence in union councils, Jamaat-e-Islami’s youth wing is poised to be a major political force.
