Islamia University Bahawalpur Hosts Portrait Making Competition to Celebrate Allama Muhammad Iqbal’s Birth Anniversary

Bahawalpur, On the occasion of the birth anniversary of the renowned poet Allama Muhammad Iqbal, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB) organized a portrait-making competition. Students from six institutions participated in the event, held at the University College of Art and Design.

According to Islamia University Bahawalpur, announced that the competition attracted entries from students of various educational institutions, including the University College of Art and Design and the Architecture Department of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, as well as several government colleges in the region.

The event featured speeches by Prof. Dr. Javed Hassan Chandio, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Languages, Prof. Dr. Ismat Durrani, Chairperson of the Department of Persian, and other faculty members. They spoke about Allama Iqbal’s life, poetry, and achievements, while appreciating the students’ creativity in highlighting various aspects of his life through their artwork.

Abdur Rehman, a student of the University College of Art and Design, won the first position in the competition. Ayeza Mursalin from Government Sadiq College Women University, Bahawalpur, and Kanza Khan from Government Degree College of Special Education secured the second and third positions, respectively. Certificates were distributed to the participants by Prof. Dr. Javed Hassan Chandio and Farhana Altaf, Principal of the University College of Art and Design. Dr. Yasmin Rufi, Sarfraz Batol, and other faculty members were also present during the event.
