Karachi, The Institute of Business Management (IoBM) hosted an Orientation Session for new students of the Spring Semester 2024 on Saturday, January 13, 2024, under the guidance of Executive Director Ms. Sabina Mohsin. The comprehensive event was supported by various departments, marking the beginning of a new academic journey for the students.
According to Institute of Business Management, the orientation featured prominent figures including IoBM’s President Mr. Talib S. Karim; Executive Director Ms. Sabina Mohsin; Acting Rector Dr. Tariq Rahim Soomro; Deans, Heads of Departments, and Management Staff. The ceremony began with Quranic recitation by MBA student Anas Abdul Razzak, followed by a translation presented by Ms. Juveria Baig, Head of Placement and International Cooperation, who also served as the Master of Ceremonies.
President IoBM, Mr. Talib S. Karim, in his address, welcomed the students, expressing hope that IoBM would equip them with necessary skills for their future success. He encouraged students to actively participate in various student societies and events, emphasizing that university life extends beyond classroom attendance. Mr. Karim also discussed the integration of digital media and technology in education, highlighting the role of the Learning Management System (LMS) in enhancing student-faculty interaction. He assured that financial assistance would be provided to students in need, and emphasized the value of Capstone Projects for practical learning.
Acting Rector, Dr. Tariq Rahim Soomro, in his Welcome Address, provided insights into campus life at IoBM. He covered several key aspects, including continuous assessment, academic counseling, attendance policies, student societies, and social media guidelines. He also briefed on the semester system, credit hours, and various departments like academics, transport, finance, IT, security, scholarships, internship, and placement.
IoBM alumna Rameen Danish, a Management Trainee at Mindshare, shared her experiences at IoBM with the new students. She described her time at IoBM as transformative, shaping her into a well-rounded individual and leader. Rameen emphasized the importance of enjoying the academic journey, participating in student activities, and exploring the opportunities IoBM offers for personal and professional growth.
