IoBM Holds Orientation for Fall 2022

Karachi, September 10, 2022 (PPI-OT):The Orientation session for the Fall 2022 Semester was held on Saturday, September 10, 2022. The program was planned, coordinated, and executed under the leadership of Ms. Sabina Mohsin, Executive Director Admissions, Administration and Finance. IoBM’s various departments including Admissions, Academics, Finance, IT, Security, Student Affairs, Maintenance, Media, and General Administration worked in close coordination to make this event a success. The event was attended by the Rector, Deans, Heads of Departments, faculty members, and management. A documentary highlighting IoBM’s history and campus life was shared at the onset of the event. Ms. Tahira Naseem was the Master of Ceremonies. Aliha Hussain (BBA, first semester) recited the verses from the Holy Quran with translation.

Earlier, during his speech, Mr. Talib Karim, President IoBM, welcomes the students and emphasized upon the virtues of leading a disciplined life. He was confident that life at IoBM will groom the students’ personalities and help them build their future as was the case with graduates who are now placed at key positions in leading organizations. Mr. President advised students to respect their country, parents, and teachers. He believed Pakistan is a land of promise and potential. He encouraged the students to play their role in the development of Pakistan for they are the future pillars of the country.

During his Welcome Address, Dr. Shujaat Mubarik, Dean CBM welcomed the future of Pakistan to IoBM. He paid a heartfelt tribute to IoBM’s Late Founder President who envisioned an institute that has become one of the leading business schools in Pakistan. He shared key details for students to remember and adhere to while studying at IoBM. These included rules regarding the Continuous Assessment System, Academic Counselling, Maintaining Attendance, Student Societies, Workshops and Seminars, Code of Conducts, Semester System, and Credit Hours.

While sharing her Alumni Experience, Ishma Ghazanfar, IoBM’s graduate, gold medallist, and valedictorian from the Class of 2021 advised students to not miss classes unless it’s an emergency. She suggested students find a balance in life to focus on studies and extracurricular activities. She shared that the students should learn concepts and theories in class and develop learning habits. She asked students to set high standards, envision their goals, aim for excellence, and perform all tasks to the best of their abilities.
