Bahawalpur, February 22, 2023 (PPI-OT):It is impossible to deny the importance of mother tongue in the formation of human personality. In societies where intellectuals are connected to their land and mother tongue, generations are proud of their culture, language and history. Engineer Professor Dr. Athar Mehboob Vice Chancellor Islamia University Bahawalpur expressed these views on the occasion of International Mother Language Day. He further said that among Pakistani universities, Islamia University Bahawalpur holds a prominent position in teaching and researching languages.
Dean Faculty of Arts and Languages Professor Dr. Javed Hasan Chandio said that the teachers of the Faculty of Arts are nationally and internationally recognized based on their research and writings related to languages. While discussing the topic of Linguistics, he informed about the threats posed to the various mother tongues in Pakistan and emphasized on the promotion and spread of the mother tongue and how it is possible to protect and promote the mother tongue.
