Imran Khan Calls for Nationwide Peaceful Protest as Concerns Over Political Retaliation and Economic Issues Rise

Lahore: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf senior leader Musrat Jamshed Cheema announced that on November 24, the nation will take to the streets in response to Imran Khan’s call for a peaceful protest. This announcement came as Cheema addressed the media alongside Jamshed Iqbal Cheema and a group of lawyers after appearing in the Special Anti-Terrorism Court.

According to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Cheema criticized the era of the Muslim League (N) for fostering a culture of character assassination and political vengeance. She highlighted issues such as inadequate measures against smog and criticized the Chief Minister of Punjab for seeking medical treatment abroad during a critical time. Cheema also alleged that she faced political harassment, including being jailed for 42 days and subjected to mental torture.

Jamshed Iqbal Cheema raised concerns over the declining state of agriculture in Pakistan, citing significant reductions in cotton, corn, and rice production, and warned of potential food security issues. He urged farmers, civil society, and the media to hold the government accountable, emphasizing the adverse impact of current policies on the agricultural sector and the wider economy.
