Lahore, June 21, 2022 (PPI-OT):Members of Punjab Assembly from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Pakistan Muslim League called on Speaker Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Parvez Elahi in his chamber. The political and economic situation of the country was discussed in detail during the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, Ch Parvez Elahi said that the rulers could not provide relief to the people but they are imposing taxes on the people every day. Inflation bombs are being dropped, sometimes petrol and sometimes electricity and gas prices are being increased. He said that the prices of essential commodities have reached the highest level in the history of the country, it has become difficult for the people to run their own kitchens, the imported government is burdening the people every day. The people will take revenge for all these cruelties with the power of vote.
Meanwhile, a joint meeting of Pakistan Muslim League (PML) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) parliamentary parties was held under the chairmanship of Speaker Ch Parvez Elahi and Leader of the Opposition Sibtain Khan in which Deputy Opposition Leaders Raja Basharat, Mian Aslam Iqbal, Fayyaz Al Hassan Chauhan, Ch Zaheeruddin and Ikhlaq Gujjar participated.
In his address, Ch Parvez Elahi said that despite the busy schedule of by-elections, you have come to the Punjab Assembly, this is proof of your strong commitment to Imran Khan and the party. He said that next week is very important, three important cases are pending in the courts, the government will be given tough time on political and legal fronts, election of Hamza Shahbaz, convening of assembly session by the governor and ordinance has been challenged in court.
Opposition Leader Punjab Assembly Sibtain Khan said that the administration, DPOs and DCOs are running one-sidedly in the by-elections, we will raise our voice against the tactics being used by the administration in the by-elections. He said that party assembly members will run a full-fledged election campaign in the by-elections.
