Islamabad, H.E. Professor Dr. Saleh bin Abdullah bin Humaid, Imam e Kaaba and Advisor at Saudi Royal Courts, recently visited the new campus of the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI). During his visit, he inspected the upcoming King Salman bin Abdul Aziz grand mosque and other facilities at the university, expressing appreciation for the university’s direction and the support from the Saudi leadership.
According to International Islamic University, Islamabad, during his visit, Imam e Kaaba was accompanied by IIUI President Dr. Hathal Homoud Alotaibi, who briefed him on various aspects of the university, including the male and female campuses, faculties, and facilities. The highlight of the visit was the site for the King Salman bin Abdul Aziz grand mosque, a significant project under development with an estimated cost of 32 million dollars.
Imam e Kaaba was informed about the grand mosque’s capacity, which includes an inner hall that can accommodate 4000 male and 2000 female worshippers, and a yard with a capacity for an additional 6000 people. The mosque will also feature a library, a museum, and the Muhammad bin Salman Auditorium for conferences.
Imam e Kaaba expressed his satisfaction with IIUI’s progress and direction, noting that the endowment from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques would further enhance the international stature of the university. The visit underscores the strong ties between Saudi Arabia and the International Islamic University Islamabad, and the mutual commitment to promoting Islamic education and scholarship.
