Islamabad, The International Islamic University (IIU) has forged a significant partnership with Ihsan Trust (IT) by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). This collaboration aims to provide interest-free loan facilities to IIU students who are unable to afford their fees and other charges.
According to International Islamic University Islamabad, the MOU was signed in a ceremony attended by key representatives from both institutions. Mr. Fayyaz ur Rehman Khan, General Manager of Ihsan Trust, visited IIU Islamabad for the occasion. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Shuja, Vice President of Research and Enterprise at IIU, signed the MOU on behalf of the university. Also present were Dr. Zafar Iqbal, Dean of Social Sciences, Dr. Saba Hameed from the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, and other officials from IIUI.
GM Ihsan Trust emphasized that the interest-free loan facility will be extended to IIUI students based on a special agreement made with each selected student. The initial selection of candidates will be conducted by IIUI’s University Advancement and Financial Aid Office (UAFA), while Ihsan Trust will manage the final interviews and appraisals.
The interest-free loan facility, Ihsan Trust, will cater to numerous IIUI students within an annual limit, based on a “Need-cum-Merit” basis. The Trust plans to cover up to 50% of the tuition and other fees of IIUI, which may increase to 75% depending on the student’s need. The facility will be provided for one attempt per student for each subject in any semester/year, encouraging academic success.
Prof. Dr. Ahmed Shuja remarked that this MOU is set to open doors for more joint ventures and collaborations in the field of education. He highlighted IIUI’s commitment to addressing societal needs by producing skilled graduates and mentioned the university’s transparent scholarship mechanisms for supporting needy students.
This partnership between IIUI and Ihsan Trust marks a crucial step towards making education more accessible and affordable, particularly for students facing financial challenges.
