IIUI Hosts Workshop on Professional Standards for Teachers in Pakistan

Islamabad, The Department of Teacher Education at the International Islamic University (IIUI) organized a workshop titled “National Professional Standards for Teachers (NPSTs)”, aimed at enhancing the professional development of future educators. This event was a proactive effort by the Faculty of Education, MS Teacher Education, First Semester.

According to International Islamic University Islamabad, the workshop was well-received, with Dr. Shamsa Aziz, Chairperson of the Faculty of Education, expressing appreciation for the initiative. She highlighted the workshop’s significance in fostering professional growth among aspiring teachers.

The event focused on providing participants with a comprehensive understanding of the National Professional Standards for Teachers, underlining their crucial role in shaping the future of teacher education in Pakistan. It served as a platform for practical insights and underscored the Department’s commitment to improving education quality through ongoing learning and development.

Dr. Muhammad Zafar Iqbal, In-Charge (Programs) of the Department of Teacher Education, and Assistant Professors Dr. Zarina Akhtar and Dr. Fouzia Ajmal shared their expertise during the workshop. Their contributions added valuable perspectives to the discussions and learning process.

The workshop was attended by a large number of second-semester education students, under the supervision of Dr. Fouzia Ajmal, Assistant Professor in the Department of Teacher Education. The active participation of these students underscored the interest and commitment within the IIUI community towards enhancing teaching standards and professional competencies in the education sector.
