Islamabad: The International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) is advancing its digital transformation efforts by conducting a series of training sessions for its officers and staff on the use of e-office software. This initiative, led by the university’s Directorate of Information Systems (DIS) Department, aims to implement paperless and efficient office operations across all departments.
A targeted training session was held at the Council Hall of the Administration Block, directed by Mr. Zulqarnain Hashmi, Director of DIS, and Mr. Adeel Akbar, Assistant Director, HRM and D. The session focused on familiarizing participants with the operational features and benefits of the e-office software, with particular emphasis on improving documentation flow, file tracking, and inter-departmental communication. These efforts are overseen by Vice President (Administration and Finance), Prof. Dr. Abdul Rahman, who underscored the significance of digital transformation in enhancing administrative processes.
Notable attendees included senior officials such as Syed Naveed Ehtisham, Director Academics and Examinations, and Mr. Ateeq Ur Rehman Chughtai, Director HRM and D, among others. Officers and staff from multiple departments were present to engage with the new system.
The training sessions aim to equip departments with the necessary skills to operate in a fully digital environment, thereby reducing paper reliance and enhancing transparency, speed, and coordination.
This initiative is consistent with the vision of the Directorate of Information Systems, which is dedicated to providing professional-grade services across the university. The Directorate’s mission is to support academic and business functions through a robust IT infrastructure, focusing on maximizing efficiency and minimizing costs.
Previously, departments such as Finance, Planning and Development, and Academics participated in similar sessions, embracing the university’s digital transformation journey.
