Karachi, The Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Karachi’s Center for Entrepreneurial Development (CED) is hosting the Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) 2023. The week-long event, held from November 13 to November 16, commenced with a workshop titled ‘Boosting Entrepreneurship in University Education,’ featuring trainers from the University of Turku, Finland.
According to Institute of Business Administration Karachi, Dr. Lalarukh Ejaz, Assistant Professor and Director of CED, welcomed attendees, including international and national faculty members. In her opening remarks, she highlighted the significance of GEW as a celebration of innovation, collaboration, and entrepreneurial potential.
The workshop, conducted by representatives from the University of Turku, including Dr. Sanna Ilonen, Joachim Ramström, and Ari Koski, focused on innovative methods to integrate entrepreneurship into university education. The aim is to instill a mindset of creativity and enterprise among students.
Faculty members from various institutions, including IBA Karachi, Punjab University, Institute of Business Management (IoBM), NED University of Engineering and Technology, and Karachi University, are participating in various sessions and activities throughout the week. These are designed to empower and inspire aspiring entrepreneurs.
The GEW agenda features a diverse range of events, including panel discussions, a startup showcase titled ‘Iventure’ from November 13 – 14, and ‘Invent,’ an IBA-CED startup pitch competition, scheduled for November 16.
The IBA-CED is committed to fostering meaningful connections and paving the way for a future rich in innovation and success. Participants are encouraged to take advantage of the opportunities presented, network with peers, and absorb the insights and knowledge shared during the event.
