Government Jinnah College Clinches Victory in Inter-College Ramadan T-20 Cup

Karachi, In a spirited display of cricket, Government Jinnah College emerged victorious in the Inter-College Ramadan T-20 Cup, defeating Government College 36B Landhi No. 4 in the final match. This triumph was celebrated at the closing ceremony of the tournament, which has been praised for promoting cricket at the grassroots level and discovering future stars of the sport.

According to Regional Cricket Association Karachi, the initiative, supported by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, has been commended by Syed Najmi Alam, Adviser to the Chief Minister of Sindh. He highlighted the significance of nurturing young talent and providing them with the necessary facilities to excel in cricket. The commendation came during the closing ceremony held at Eidgah Ground Nazimabad, where the efforts of the Regional Cricket Association Karachi and the tournament committee were lauded for their excellent organization of the event.

The tournament not only showcased the potential of young cricketers but also brought to light the challenges faced by the Regional Cricket Association Karachi, particularly regarding the retrieval of five grounds previously taken by the Municipal Corporation. Khalid Nafees, Chairman of the Tournament Committee, emphasized the importance of regaining these grounds to enhance club cricket in Karachi.

The final match was a nail-biter, with Government College 36B Landhi setting a target of 75 runs, which was chased down by Government Jinnah College with three wickets in hand. Player of the match honors went to Naeem Gul of Jinnah College, with notable performances from Kashan Faheem, who scored 25 runs, and bowlers Saifullah and Hasan Ali Khan.

The ceremony concluded with Syed Najmi Alam distributing awards to the winning team, including a trophy and a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh to Rizwan Khan, captain of Jinnah College. Other awards were distributed for individual performances throughout the tournament, underscoring the talent and sportsmanship displayed by the participants.
