Global Recognition for GIKI Researchers as Four Earn Spots on World’s Top 2% Scientists List


Topi: Four Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology (GIKI) researchers have earned spots on the prestigious list of the world’s top 2% scientists for 2024, as determined by Stanford University and Elsevier. The researchers recognized are leaders in fields ranging from artificial intelligence to construction materials.



According to Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology, the list includes Prof. Dr. Zahid Halim, the Dean of Online and Distant Learning, known for his advancements in affective computing and artificial intelligence, marking his second consecutive year of inclusion. Prof. Dr. Ghulam Abbas, Head of the Department of Cyber Security and Software Engineering, is also featured, with a focus on networking and telecommunications. Dr. Muhammad Zahir Iqbal, an associate professor in the Faculty of Engineering Sciences, has been recognized for his work in photovoltaics and supercapacitors, marking his fourth consecutive appearance on the list. Additionally, Dr. Muhammad Faisal Javed, an associate professor in the Department of Civil Engineering, has been noted for his expertise in construction materials.
