Karachi, February 12, 2023 (PPI-OT): Former President of Pakistan and President Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians Asif Ali Zardari have paid tribute to the women who raised their voices for the constitution and democracy during the Zia dictatorship on National Women’s Day. Mother Democracy Begum Nasr Bhutto and Shaheed Democracy Ms. Benazir Bhutto Shaheed role is a torch for women. Ms. Benazir Bhutto Shaheed defeated the powerful dictators through democratic struggle. Asif Ali Zardari said that the women leaders and women workers of the PPP endured imprisonment in the Shahi Fort in the struggle for the restoration of democracy.
Asif Ali Zardari said that Pakistan People’s Party ensured the participation of women in all sectors. Through the Benazir Income Support Program, women were made partakers of the fruits of the state. Asif Ali Zardari said that it is important for a dignified and civilized society that women should have equal rights. He said that the thinking of women as inferior and weak must be defeated. Pakistan People’s Party will continue the struggle to give women the dignified position they deserve.
