Dr. Imran Abbas to Attend ICC Level 2 Tutors Training Course in Maldives

Lahore: Dr. Imran Abbas, former international cricketer and General Manager of Academies, is set to participate in the ICC Level 2 Tutors training course in Malé, Maldives. The four-day event, starting on July 24, 2024, is part of the ICC’s initiative to enhance cricket coaching standards globally.

According to Pakistan Cricket Board, the training course aims to develop a cadre of quality Level 2 tutors who will be responsible for training coaches. This step is crucial for ICC members as it enables them to conduct their own Level 2 courses independently. The course will be led by notable cricket personalities, former Pakistan international Iqbal Sikander and former Bangladesh Test captain Amin-ul-Islam, both designated by the ICC.

Following the training course, the ICC will also host a High-Performance workshop on July 29-30 in the Maldives. This workshop, featuring former Test cricketer Wahab Riaz and former international cricketer Shahid Anwar, who is currently the head coach at the National Cricket Academy, aims to introduce participants to the latest coaching techniques and strategies for identifying and nurturing grassroots talent.
