Dr. Abdul Bari Khan awarded Honorary Fellowship from the Pakistan Society of Internal Medicine 

Karachi, May 09, 2022 (PPI-OT):The third annual conference of the Pakistan Society of Medicine (PSIM) was held in Karachi. The event commemorated the leaders, visionaries, and professionals who have shaped and are redefining the healthcare sector in Pakistan.

The event concluded with an honorary fellowship awarded to Professor Dr. Abdul Bari Khan, Chief Executive Officer, Indus Hospital and Health Network (IHHN). The award was in honour of his services for ailing humanity by establishing the largest healthcare network in Pakistan. IHHN operates on the basis of donations and charity and serves millions of patients across the country absolutely free of cost.

The late great Abdul Sattar Edhi headlined the induction class of 2022. Other inductees included Professor Shahzad Ali Khan and leading microbiologist Dr. Farhan Essa at its convocation at the 3rd annual conference in Karachi. The Indus Hospital and Health Network is profoundly honoured and offers its heartiest congratulations to all the inductees at the third annual PSIM conference.

Accolades received over the years

Indus’ influence in reshaping Pakistan’s healthcare sector over the last several years has been widely acknowledged by the Government of Pakistan, multinational corporations, and esteemed organizations across the country. Dr. Bari’s list of achievements continuously grows as he has received numerous prestigious awards for his philanthropic services.

He is the recipient of the second-highest civilian award in the country, the Hilal-e-Imtiaz, for his outstanding contribution and selfless service in changing the paradigm of the provision of quality healthcare across Pakistan. Dr. Arif Alvi, President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, presented it to him.

In commemoration of Pakistan day on March 23, 2015, Dr. Bari was awarded the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, the third-highest civilian award in Pakistan. It was bestowed upon Dr. Bari for performing extraordinary services to the people of Pakistan.

Dr. Bari received an Appreciation Award at the ‘Karachi Tum Say Hay’ event in December 2019, which recognized his commitment to providing outstanding services in different walks of life for the city of Karachi. In addition, he received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Management Association of Pakistan at its 34th Corporate Excellence Awards.

Hamdard University honoured Dr. Bari with its Mohar-e-Nabaowat shield, and Hamdard University presented him with a ‘Degree of Doctor of Humane (Honoris Causa)’ for his untiring and endless services to humanity in February 2022 during its annual convocation ceremony.
