Dow University Medical Student Sets Personal Best at National Powerlifting Event

Karachi: Adil Mehboob, a second-year MBBS student at Dow International Medical College, part of Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS), has set a new personal record at the LIFT OFF powerlifting competition, one of Pakistan’s premier events in the sport. Competing in the 66kg weight category, Mehboob lifted a total of 970 lbs across three core lifts.

According to Dow University of Health Sciences, Mehboob’s remarkable achievement includes lifting weights of 100 kg in the bench press, 180 kg in the deadlift, and 150 kg in the squat. His performance not only sets a new personal benchmark but also highlights the exceptional talent and dedication of students at DUHS, balancing rigorous academic commitments with high-level athletic pursuits.

Mehboob has consistently represented his university in various sports festivals, demonstrating significant prowess in powerlifting and bringing honor to DUHS through his athletic achievements.
