Consul General of China Distributes Scholarships at UCP Ceremony

Lahore, The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Central Punjab (UCP) hosted a significant event, the Consul General China Scholarship Distribution Ceremony. The ceremony, graced by the Consulate General of China in Lahore, Mr. Zhao Shiren, as the Chief Guest, highlighted the strengthening educational ties between Pakistan and China.

According to University of Central Punjab, the event, moderated by Sir Abdul Rehman, Lecturer at FOHSS and Co-patron of the Voltaire society, commenced with a recitation from the Holy Quran by Nasrullah, a student of BS International Relations. This was followed by the playing of the national anthems of China and Pakistan, setting a tone of mutual respect and collaboration between the two nations.

A key highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of a documentary on Sino-Pak relations, showcasing the deep-rooted and evolving partnership between the two countries. Mr. Zhao Shiren then took the stage to congratulate the scholarship recipients, encouraging all students to work diligently to avail similar opportunities in the future. In a significant announcement, Mr. Zhao committed to offering more scholarships in the coming year, signaling continued support for educational exchanges.

Mr. Zhao expressed a keen interest in expanding educational and economic collaborations with the University of Central Punjab, particularly with the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. This gesture underscores the growing bilateral relations and the importance of educational exchanges in strengthening these ties.

The ceremony was concluded by Dr. Khalid Manzoor Butt, who extended heartfelt thanks to the Chief Guest and presented him with a souvenir, symbolizing the appreciation and gratitude of the University for this collaborative initiative.
