Lahore, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), addressed a workers’ convention in Jati Umra, Lahore, where he laid out a detailed 10-point agenda aimed at transforming the socio-economic landscape of Pakistan. He emphasized the PPP’s commitment to enhancing the lives of the people through robust policies and reaffirmed the party’s dedication to win the upcoming elections in NA-125.
According to Pakistan People’s Party, Chairman Bilawal praised Chaudhary Abdul Ghafoor for joining and representing PPP in the elections. He emphasized that the PPP is not just contesting elections to participate but to win, urging party workers to engage actively in the electoral process. Bilawal stressed that the PPP’s politics revolve around unity and progress, distancing itself from politics of hatred and division.
The Chairman’s 10-point agenda includes:
Doubling the income of the Pakistani people within five years to enhance their buying power.
Providing 300 units of free electricity to the underprivileged.
Ensuring free, quality education for every child in Pakistan.
Offering free healthcare services, as exemplified by Sindh’s NICVD and other medical institutions.
Constructing three million houses, granting ownership primarily to women.
Expanding the Benazir Income Support Programme to include education, employment, and health benefits.
Introducing ‘Kissan Card’ for farmers and ‘Mazdoor Card’ for laborers to ensure direct benefits from subsidies and secure their rights.
Launching the ‘Youth Card’ to provide financial support and employment opportunities for young people.
Implementing the ‘Bhook Mitao’ programme to address hunger at the union council level.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari called on the party workers to spread the message of the PPP’s manifesto to every household, highlighting that the party’s aim is to bring a new wave of politics focused on changing the fate of the people. He identified poverty, inflation, and unemployment as the real adversaries and encouraged voters to support the PPP, symbolized by the arrow, in the upcoming elections.
