KARACHI: Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, has expressed profound sorrow over the loss of life and property damage due to recent rain-related incidents across Pakistan, including Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
In a statement from the Media Cell at Bilawal House, Bhutto Zardari extended his condolences to families affected by the severe weather. He called for immediate joint relief efforts by the National and Provincial Disaster Management Authorities in the hardest-hit districts of Balochistan, such as Washuk and Khuzdar, as well as regions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa like Malakand and Mansehra.
Bhutto Zardari stressed the importance of preemptive measures by both federal and provincial governments to mitigate future risks during the monsoon season. He urged the public to minimize movement and adhere to safety protocols during periods of heavy rain.
Addressing the broader issue, Bhutto Zardari highlighted the impact of climate change on weather patterns, urging the international community to take concrete action against global warming. He called for mobilization of resources to address these environmental challenges, emphasizing that rhetoric alone is insufficient.
