Battles of Islam, Significances and Facts

Faisalabad, April 07, 2023 (PPI-OT): Department of Arabic and Islamic Studies organized a panel discussion session on “Battles of Islam in History, Significance and Facts” in Saleem Campus on April 4, 2023. Panellists included Dr Naila Riaz, Head Department English Language and Literature, Dr Kiran Zulfiqar, senior demonstrator Pathology, Dr Amber Salman, Asst professor Anatomy, Miss Asma Tariq, lecturer department of Arabic and Islamic Studies. Dr Hifsa Munawar, Asst Professor, Department of Arabic and Islamic Studies was the moderator of this session.

During the discussion, panellists threw light on the significance of battles of Islam, their political, historical, geographical, economic and social impacts and factors in Islam. Allah says in Holy Quran; “Fight in the way of Allah with those who fight you, and do not exceed the limit”.

Starting off with the first battle of Islam; Ghazwa e Badar (17th Ramazan, 2 Hijri) which was a major turning point in the spread of Islam and ending at Fatah e Makka on 8th Hijri, all important events of Islamic history were discussed in this session. Battle strategies of our beloved Holy Prophet (SAW)and His companions were also highlighted. A large number of students and faculty members attended this informative session.
