Lahore, March 22, 2022 (PPI-OT):Dr. Iftakhar Yasin (Assistant Professor, Economics Department) has successfully passed two courses titled as “PH125.2x: Data Science: Visualization” and “PH125.1x: Data Science: R Basics”. The former course focused on Programming in R, Conditionals, Functions, and Loops, whereas the later was exclusively about Data Visualization principles and distributions.
These two courses of study were offered by HarvardX which is an online learning initiative of Harvard University. While sharing the outcomes of the courses, Dr. Yasin said that these advanced courses will help him to have hands-on practice in the powerful statistical tool R, which can be further helpful for Economics’ students at the UOL. He said, “These skills will help me to excel in the field of Economics by publishing in top-notch scientific journals incorporating the most recently developed data analysis techniques. Furthermore, I will also assist my students about these skills so that that they can become proficient in data science”.
