Arts Council and International Writers Forum Celebrate New Literary Works in Rawalpindi

Rawalpindi, An esteemed literary event unfolded in Rawalpindi’s Punjab Arts Council as five prominent writers and poets witnessed the launch of their latest works. The ceremony, a testament to the flourishing state of Urdu literature in Pakistan, was presided over by the country’s renowned poet and writer, Dr. Farhat Abbas.

According to a news release by the Punjab Arts Council, this joint venture with the international writers forum introduced the literary world to Dr. Khalid Asran’s “Fusun Zaar”, Faiza Malik’s “Ek Shahr Wafa Tha”, Dr. Saber Afaqi’s “Aapka Kaalam”, and Asim Nawaz Khandi’s “Baba Ji Salim Khandi, Naqtnazar”. The program was further enriched by a Naat recitation by poet and writer Nusrat Yab Khan Nusrat, with Shahzad Afuq taking on the role of the host for the evening.

Esteemed literary figures including Naseem Sahar, Naveed Malik, Prof. Nauman Nazir, Ahmed Mazhoor Ashraf, and Kamal Abbas delved deep into discussions, highlighting the significance of the launched books in the realm of Urdu literature. Praise was also heaped upon Chairman Shehzad Afuq Al-Tamimi for his unwavering commitment to literature and his immense contributions to the field.

Waqar Ahmad, the Director of the Arts Council, exuded optimism regarding the trajectory of Urdu literature in Pakistan. He spotlighted the promising wave of young and innovative writers steering the literary domain towards excellence and novelty. Naveed Malik, the forum’s patron, underscored their mission of uplifting and endorsing writers and poets, transcending conventional group dynamics. Concluding the ceremony, the president extended his felicitations to all the writers for their commendable literary contributions.
