Pakistan Aims for Third Consecutive Victory Against England in Lahore ODI

Lahore: Unbeaten Pakistan will seek to maintain their winning streak as they face England in the fourth match of the ODI tri-series at Gaddafi Stadium today. The toss is scheduled for 12:30 p.m., with the first ball set for 1 p.m. local time. In a bid to raise awareness for breast cancer, Pakistan's players will don pink kits during the match.

According to Pakistan Cricket Board, left-arm fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi, who will captain Pakistan in today's game, is on the brink of a personal milestone. At 26, Afridi has claimed 149 wickets in 79 ODIs, and he needs just one more to become the fastest Pakistan pacer to reach 150 ODI wickets. Former fast bowlers Waqar Younis and Shoaib Akhtar each reached this milestone in 91 ODIs. Should Afridi succeed, he will be the second-fastest Pakistan bowler to achieve this feat, following former off-spinner Saqlain Mushtaq, who did so in 78 matches. The fastest overall is Nepal's Sandeep Lamichhane, who reached 150 ODI wickets in 73 matches.

Afridi has played six matches at the Gaddafi Stadium, securing 16 wickets. As captain, he has led Pakistan in 13 ODIs, achieving nine victories, including series wins against Australia and South Africa. Pakistan remains unbeaten in the current ODI tri-series, with victories in both their matches at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. They began their campaign with a 37-run win over Sri Lanka, followed by an 87-run triumph against England.

Today's match marks the first ODI meeting between Pakistan and England at Gaddafi Stadium since December 12, 2005. In that encounter, Pakistan defeated England by seven wickets, with Shoaib Akhtar taking five wickets to secure a decisive victory for the hosts.
