KARACHI: Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has emphasized the need for positive politics and dialogue in Pakistan, urging the youth of Karachi to embrace education and sports over violence. He made these remarks during the inauguration of a newly built sports complex in Baldia Town.

According to a press release issued by Media Cell Bilawal House, Bhutto Zardari voiced the PPP's commitment to providing opportunities for young people through education and sports. He criticized unnamed political forces for allegedly steering the youth toward crime and urged them to utilize and maintain the new sports facility for future generations.

Bhutto Zardari highlighted the PPP's focus on addressing political differences through dialogue rather than confrontation. He expressed concerns over the politics of division practiced by some in Karachi and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, stressing that political parties should prioritize public welfare and problem-solving through democratic means.

He addressed the issue of potential emergency or governor's rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as a last resort, advocating for dialogue as the primary solution to political conflicts. He referenced recent disruptions in negotiations between the federal government and opposition, attributing them to actions by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister.

Moreover, Bhutto Zardari urged the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to abandon confrontational politics and engage in parliamentary activities. He noted that PTI's political decisions have led to disillusionment among its supporters and emphasized the importance of cooperation with the federal government on national matters.

The PPP Chairman announced an agreement with the federal government to form a parliamentary committee on electoral reforms. He expressed hope for the involvement of all relevant parties to ensure transparent elections. He also stressed the necessity of PTI's participation in this process.

In response to journalist inquiries, Bhutto Zardari reiterated the PPP's philosophy of dialogue as a means to resolve political issues. He acknowledged Maulana Fazlur Rehman's role in negotiations and expressed hope for successful talks to prevent emergency rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

On Karachi's development, Bhutto Zardari described the city's progress as a personal priority. He attributed past violence and political clashes to hindering civic life but noted the restoration of peace through political struggle. He highlighted ongoing development projects, including the sports complex, as opportunities for youth and citizens.

Addressing economic concerns, Bhutto Zardari called for an examination of the federal government's policies amid rising inflation and unemployment. He cited global geopolitical conditions and climate change as contributing factors to economic challenges, emphasizing the government's responsibility to provide relief to the public.

Bhutto Zardari affirmed the PPP's dedication to representing its political mandate and the public's voice, pledging to address their issues at every available forum.
