LAHORE: Punjab University Department of Gender Studies, in collaboration with City Traffic Police Lahore, organized a seminar titled "Road Safety and Civic Responsibilities" to raise awareness among students and faculty about traffic regulations and civic duties. The event featured key speakers, including Prof. Dr. Rubeena Zakar and Inspector Fahmeeda Zeeshan, and offered on-the-spot licensing services.
According to University of the Punjab, the seminar aimed to educate the university community on traffic rules, pedestrian safety, and responsible road-user behaviors. Dean Faculty of Behavioral and Social Sciences, Prof. Dr. Rubeena Zakar, commended the City Traffic Police for their role in facilitating the session and highlighted the importance of ongoing partnerships between educational institutions and public departments to foster responsible citizenship and safety awareness.
City Traffic Police Inspector Fahmeeda Zeeshan addressed the seminar, detailing departmental initiatives led by Chief Minister Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, which focus on women's empowerment, road safety for women, and promoting ethical behavior on roads. She encouraged female students to be informed and confident road users. Additionally, a City Traffic Police Licensing Van was available at the seminar to provide licensing services to the university community.
