Lahore: Former Pakistan Test captain Aamir Sohail recently visited the National Cricket Academy in Lahore to assess the progress of development work and high-performance initiatives aimed at nurturing future cricket talent in the country. Sohail's visit featured a comprehensive briefing on the academy's programs and facilities, underscoring efforts to enhance the skills of young cricketers.
According to Pakistan Cricket Board, Director High Performance Aqib Javed provided Sohail with an overview of the development programs for U15, U17, and U19 players, detailing the academy's structure and pathways designed to identify and prepare young talent for advanced levels of competition. Sohail also received a presentation from the Analysis wing on the Athlete Management System, which plays a crucial role in monitoring player development and performance.
Sohail, who previously served as Director National Cricket Academy and Chief Selector, examined the upgraded facilities, including the installation of a bio-mechanics lab. In his remarks to PCB Digital, Sohail expressed satisfaction with the improvements, noting that the necessary facilities for player development are now in place. He commended the Pakistan Cricket Board for its investment in these initiatives and acknowledged the Chairman's commitment to enhancing Pakistan cricket.
Sohail emphasized the importance of translating infrastructure and investment into tangible results and urged a sustained focus on player development.
