LAHORE: Punjab University Pakistan Study Centre held a national seminar on the topic of 'Political Thought, Leadership and Legacy of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah'. According to University of the Punjab, the seminar featured key figures such as Professor of History and Dean of Social Sciences at Forman Christian College University Lahore Prof. Dr. Sikandar Hayat, along with other notable academics including Prof. Dr. Mahboob Hussain and Prof. Dr. Amjad Abbas Khan Magsi.

In his keynote address, Prof. Dr. Sikandar Hayat discussed Jinnah's political thought, constitutional vision, and leadership within the historical context of colonial India and the creation of Pakistan. He outlined Jinnah's political evolution from an Indian nationalist with Congress to a Muslim nationalist with the Muslim League, highlighting his efforts to unite Hindu and Muslim political classes and his role in advocating for a separate Muslim state in the Lahore Resolution of 1940. Prof. Hayat elaborated on Jinnah’s strategies, emphasizing his support for federalism, provincial autonomy, and minority rights, as well as his belief in democratic governance and rule of law.

Prof. Dr. Mahboob Hussain commended the Pakistan Study Centre's initiative, stressing the value of ongoing academic exploration of Jinnah's life and legacy. Prof. Dr. Amjad Abbas Khan, in his welcome address, reinforced the Centre's dedication to fostering scholarly research and informed discourse on Pakistan's historical and political landscape.
