Sri Lanka Batters Achieve Career-High Rankings Following T20I Series Victory Over Pakistan

Colombo: A group of Sri Lankan players achieved career-best ratings in the latest ICC Women's T20I Batting Rankings following their successful T20I series against Pakistan. Sri Lanka's skipper Chamari Athapaththu and her teammates were instrumental in securing the series victory, with Athapaththu reaching the sixth spot on the rankings for T20I batters after impressive performances in the matches.

According to International Cricket Council, Athapaththu delivered significant contributions by scoring 39 in the first match and 40 in the series-clinching second T20I. Her teammate, Imesha Dulani, also made a noteworthy impact with her maiden century against Pakistan, scoring an unbeaten 101* in the opener, which propelled her 33 places to a career-high 23rd spot on the T20I batters' rankings.

The rankings also saw improvements for Pakistan's batters, with Muneeba Ali climbing four places to 30th and Shawaal Zulfiqar making a significant leap to 52nd after notable performances in the series.

In the ODI rankings update, Sri Lankan players continued to shine. The series concluded with a Sri Lankan victory, 2-1, and notable performances from Harshitha Samarawickrama, who was named Player of the Series for her 173 runs across the three matches. Harshitha's unbeaten 73 in the final match helped her rise to 13th on the ODI batters' list. Hasini Perera, also from Sri Lanka, moved up two places to 35th.

On the Pakistani side, Gull Feroza and Fatima Sana saw improvements in their ODI batting rankings, while Nashra Sandhu climbed to 10th place among ODI bowlers. For Sri Lanka, Athapaththu and Kavisha Dilhari also advanced in the ODI bowlers' rankings, showcasing the competitive edge of both teams in the series.
