Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi Showcases Sindhi Plays at Theatre Festival

Karachi: The Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi is hosting the "Wes-Dhaari Sindhi Theatre Festival 2026," featuring the Sindhi theatre plays "Wayoon Battal" and "A Dice." The festival aims to promote Sindhi language, culture, and theatre, drawing a large audience of theatre enthusiasts who appreciated the performances.

According to Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi, "Wayoon Battal," written by Hamir Gad and directed by Sohrab Soomro, tells the story of a young man's romantic misadventures, highlighting the consequences of dishonesty. The cast includes Sohrab Soomro, Daniya Abro, and other talented actors. The narrative unfolds as the protagonist's lies lead to comedic situations, ultimately conveying the message that truth is preferable to deceit.

The festival also featured "A Dice," a psychological play by Mahmoud Diab, directed by Arshad Sheikh, with performances by Zubair Baloch and Akhtar Abbas. The play explores the mental stress and challenges of a corporate employee denied a promotion, offering an introspective look at human emotions and professional struggles.
